RFDS Rural & Remote Healthcare Illustrations
I created these healthcare illustrations for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section), depicting care in a remote community and a rural town. The scenes bring together patients, clinicians, equipment and local facilities to show the range of services involved in supporting these communities.
The artwork formed part of the RFDS Model of Care document, developed to support the case for vital government funding. By bringing the delivery of care into view, the illustrations help decision-makers connect the services described in the document with the people and settings they support.
The commission also included an illustrated healthcare map, showing how RFDS services connect across the wider landscape.
My Process
My focus was on bringing several healthcare activities together within each scene while keeping the interactions between patients and clinicians easy to follow. The compositions use foreground consultations, adjoining treatment spaces and views beyond the clinic to communicate different aspects of care in a single image.
A consistent 3D illustration style connects the two artworks. Characters, equipment and environmental details give each setting its own story, showing both personal care and the wider support surrounding it.
